Changelog

what's new

What changed in each Quiztr release on mobile, iOS, Mac, and the web.

  1. Quiztr reads its answers aloud

Turn on read aloud and Quiztr speaks its answers as it writes them, in the language you pick. A short setup step after sign-in asks for the permissions it needs.

    What's new

    • Read aloud: tap the speaker beside the chat field, or turn it on in Settings → Voice, and Quiztr reads each answer while it writes it. The voice runs on your Mac once it's downloaded; until then Quiztr's online voice takes over.
    • Your language, your voice: choose the language Quiztr answers in, how fast it speaks, and a voice for each language.
    • Permissions step: right after you sign in, Quiztr shows the microphone, speech recognition and screen recording permissions it uses, and asks for them in one go.

    Fixes

    • The chat keeps scrolling with a long answer as it comes in.
    • The installer window has a new look.
  2. Step-by-step solutions and Quiztr + on Mac

Ask about a problem and Quiztr walks you through it one step at a time, right in the chat. Quiztr + is now available from the Mac app.

    What's new

    • Solve step by step: when you ask about an exercise, the answer comes as clear steps you can follow one after the other, instead of one long block of text.
    • Quiztr + on Mac: upgrade from the app to get more from your AI allowance. Checkout opens in your browser and your plan applies everywhere you use Quiztr.
  3. A study buddy that follows your pointer, and Quiztr in French

A small companion now sits beside your pointer to show Quiztr is ready, and the Mac app speaks French.

    What's new

    • Cursor companion: a little drop follows your pointer around the screen. It's a quick way to see that Quiztr is listening, and you can turn it off in Settings → General.
    • Quiztr in French: the whole Mac app is now available in French. It follows your Mac's language, or you can pick one in Settings → General.
    • Chrome welcome page: after you install the Chrome extension, a welcome page explains what it does and how to connect it to the Mac app.

    Fixes

    • Smoother installs and updates for the Mac app.
  4. Quiztr for Mac is here

Quiztr now lives in your Mac's notch. Hold a shortcut, ask out loud, and circle what you're looking at.

    What's new

    • Quiztr in your notch: hover the notch to open Quiztr, or hold Control + Option and ask your question out loud. Move the pointer while you talk to circle the part of the screen you mean, and Quiztr answers in the notch.
    • Chrome extension: lets the Mac app read the web page you're asking about. It only reads, and only when you ask.
  5. Explain mode and answers read aloud

Snap a problem and Quiztr explains it, then answers your follow-up questions. Any answer can be read aloud.

    What's new

    • Explain mode: take a photo of a problem and Quiztr explains it, then answers your follow-up questions.
    • Read aloud: tap the speaker under any answer to hear it.
    • Delete your account from the app: a short, clear flow in Settings → Account.
  6. Faster updates and Quiztr on Google Play

The app picks up fixes and improvements as soon as they ship, without waiting for a store update. Quiztr is also available on Google Play.

    What's new

    • Faster updates: Quiztr checks for improvements when you open it and applies them at a moment that won't interrupt what you're doing.
    • Google Play: Quiztr has a Play Store listing and a new Android icon.
  7. Notifications in your language

The "your exercises are ready" notification now arrives in the language you use Quiztr in.

    Fixes

    • The notification that tells you your exercises are ready is now translated.
  8. Study plans, streaks and shared courses

Plan your revision with reminders, keep a daily streak, build courses from your own material and share them with friends.

    What's new

    • Study plans: tell Quiztr when your test is and pick a goal, and it plans your study sessions and reminds you when it's time.
    • Streaks: see how many days in a row you've studied.
    • Courses from your material: build a course from your documents and photos, crop pictures before you add them, and organize courses in folders.
    • Share courses: send a course to friends, or find one from the community.
    • New exercises: lessons with swipeable concept cards, and "spot the mistake" paragraphs.
    • Hints that help: hints are written for the question in front of you, and you can ask follow-up questions about any exercise.
    • Plans: a weekly Quiztr + option.
